Berry Picking Family Adventure

Theme: Family Adventure
Location: Bon Af Berry , Parys, South Africa

I love having spontaneous moments, when you just think hey….lets go here or do this or that. Most of my friends know that I am better at spontaneity than I am at actually scheduling a visit (Quite bad). I think this has alot to do with my personality type….keep things fun and unplanned…hehehe.

Anyways one morning Avon mentioned that his cousin Elton ‘Eazy’ Middletonwas celebrating his birthday out in Parys with the family and they were going berry picking with the kids after. They asked if we would like to join them and we were there like a square!

As we journeyed out there we didn’t take into account the weather and it looked like a heavy storm was building up. But this worked to our advantage because that meant there was literally nobody at the farm except us…. I really debated if this was a good idea or a crazy one. But it was definitely a fun one!

Some of the details you need to know – it is R50 per person to get in – toddlers are R30. The berries are organic and there is about 85 different varieties of berries. However when we went mostly the blueberries and blackberries were in season. We did see a few raspberries and other thorny bush berries that I wasn’t sure of.

You can eat as many berries as you like and you can take some home. They weigh the berries before you leave and charge you per a gram. Alternatively you can buy a large back of frozen berries which I think is far better than the fresh ones because the fresh ones can get a bit messy.

The lady that was helping us – Suzan was super sweet and helpful!

You can hear in the video how excited the kids were.

Hope you enjoy the video!
