So I have started a new “Segment” called Rhythm Rides. No I am no petrol head or car guru but my husband Avon is and I really wanted to get to know him a little better through understanding his passion more. Since my passion is video blogging and blogging this segment is really a combination of our Loves. Avon’s face lights up when he talks about cars and as a wife it brings me such joy to be on the receiving end when he shares his car wisdom.
This weeks Rhythm Rides is the MAZDA 3 Sedan! The first car I ever owned was a MAZDA 323 so it was quite interesting to hear how the brand has evolved over the years. We were driving a top-spec 2.0 Astina Plus sedan. Which basically means it was full of all the cool belts and whistles you can add to the car ……leather seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, sun roof and more.
Avon was genuinely impressed by the design, drive and cool features included in the MAZDA 3. You would need to read his official review in Top Gear for all the facts. But our marriage debate was how he loved that the heads-up display was only for him and not for me ….which meant I could not see how fast he was going. I was not impressed! lol! There are awesome features like Smart Cit y Support which prevents low-speed incidents, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, Driver Attention Alert and Adaptive LED headlights.
I loved the simplicity of the car, it really didn’t feel like there was too much going on which can sometimes be very confusing in some cars. Some of my minor issues were that there wasn’t a car lock button which I thought was interesting, when you lock the drivers door then the car locks. The boot space wasn’t massive but it wasn’t small either – 408-liters. The Bose sound system quite awesome….next time we will do a dance for you…hehehe.
Total Value of the MAZDA 3: R 427,000
Enjoy the Video and feedback is welcome!
