Sister Talk, Hair Makeover & Competition!

Sister Hair Makeover

Sister Talk, Hair Makeover & Competition! On Wednesday Maita Skyle and I had the exciting opportunity to visit TANAZ-Hair and meet with Brian Edward Warfield Warfield, a Natural Hair Expert! We got chatting about the season we were in as Mothers and the challenges we are faced with in terms of putting time and money into ourselves. Our Hair said it all really – “Oh Help!” Since my previous post on the challenge, on prioritising ourselves, it has been quite encouraging getting tips from a variety of women in different seasons and circumstances. The important conclusion made is that in order for us to fully pour into the lives of those we serve – our husbands/boyfriends, children, co-workers, friends and/or strangers, we need to pour into ourselves. What does pouring into ourselves look like? Well everyone is different and every season is different. For some, it may be important to invest in hair, nails, clothing, and facials. For others, it might be spending time with a good friend, taking a walk in the wild, praying, and reconnecting with God. Isn’t it amazing how we are all uniquely designed into such a diverse being? Furthermore, isn’t it amazing how circumstances in life change, each season brings with it different challenges and blessings. But no matter the who you are or what season you are in you need to take that time to figure out what recharges your batteries! For me, it always starts with checking in with my Heavenly Father! I know that when He isn’t on His rightful place, which is First, then all my other matters fall off balance. He restores me, comforts me, heals me and tells me daily that I was created in his own image which is WOW! So when I am not feeling uniquely created, gifted, confident and WOW I am actually questioning how God created me – A daughter of the most High King! Something that cannot be taken away or exchanged! But as with life I got to always put him in check! Next, it is my hair, a bad hair day can impact my full day and how I perform. That was why visiting Tanaz Hair and meeting with Brian was like therapy to my inner soul. I thought it was so amazing how meeting with Brian went far beyond just a normal hair dresser experience. He took his time to understand the season of life that Maita and I were in and the expectations we were hoping for in our hair. His product line "Areté of Hair" spoke right to my heart’s desire for my hair. His amazing wife, Lynette, came up with the name Areté (pronounced Ah-re-tay) means virtue; the highest level of excellence a person or thing can achieve in the area it was created for. So Areté of hair essentially is a product line that is designed to bring your hair to its highest potential. As you can see from the video the product and experience really brought life, moisture and Booya (yes I said it) to our hair! Maita got a colour and cut while I got a treatment and cut. The hairstyles were exactly what we needed for the season we are in. Maita wanted something short and sweet that brought out her face and shaped her head well. I wanted a cut that kept the length but had volume and flow. The experience at Tanaz was a real treat for us Mothers as well. We felt like VIP from the moment we walked in the door till the moment we left. I love that there is food on site too because let's be real some of us don’t do well without food and good coffee. The owner Shelene Shaer was welcoming and made us feel at home. This was definitely a venue and an experience I would recommend to friends and family that are looking for that overall awesome pampering experience. Which brings me to our Video Competition! One of our Gauteng based viewers will get a special Hair Makeover Treatment with Brian at Tanaz. Brian is talented with all hair types so all women qualify!
